Campus Awareness & Event Services Internship

​​Responsibilities
  • Created and implemented marketin and promtional strategies for the Annual UB Golf Classic.

  • Contact alumni and local businesses for sponsorships and donations to Annual UB Golf Classic.

  • Assist with the registration and RSVP processes of guests for Annual UB Golf Classic.

  • Prepare and organize gift bags, chinese auction, and catering for Annual UB Golf Classic.

  • Reach out to local establishments to request to support Flag Football Tournament.

  • Research information for target marketing areas and group sales opportunities for Football season.

 

Skills Developed
  • Communication: engaged with donors, business owners, alumni, and athletics department staff daily.

  • Public Relations: in an effort to gain registrants for the Football Tournament I reached out to local establishments to help support our cause by promoting our flyer in their business.

  • Market Research: find businesses within a reasonable radius of the University at Buffalo to contact to support the Football program.

  • Teamwork: work with the Athletics Department professionals and its interns towards planning a successful Annual UB Golf Classic and Flag Football event.

  • Golf Tournament Planning: assist with coordination, registration, marketing, and implementation of the Annual UB Golf Classic includes running a chinese auction and catering.

Recruitment & Administrative Internship

Responsibilities
  • Log prospect information into CyberSports online recruitment and compliance database

  • Prepare recruiting evaluation forms and log information into MS Office and Excel

  • Create player profiles for visiting prospects by due dates as requested by coaching staff

  • Upload data and organize DVD inventory, this improved my time management skills with workload

  • Liaison between external relations and football department



Skills Developed
  • Communication: interacting daily with coaches and staff help me develop better networking skills and the ability to build those networks in a professional manner.

  • Microsoft Office Suite: develop a variety of documents for coaches including recruit evaluations, recruit visitation information, recruit profiles, etc. 

  • Recruitment Database Management: experience managing and organizing a recruitment database with confidential information regarding student athletes (CyberSports Database).

  • Time Management: Coaches depended on me to get certain documents and film into their mailboxes and or binders on time. 

  • Organizational: All of the aspects of this internship required that everything I did was organized so the next person needing the information can get to it quickly and with no trouble.
