Coursework

1. Personal Budget Project: This assignment required I develop a realistic personal budget for my first job earning $30,000 a year. I picked a living location, job, and did extensive research on realistic pricing for health insurance, taxes, costs for living, groceries, and other expenses.

  • Select on the MS Excel symbol to view the budget I developed

  • Select the photograph of myself to view the paper reflecting this experience

2. Fitness Club Business Plan Presentation: I worked in a group with two other classmates to develop a business plan for a new Athletic Club; we called Shoreline Athletic Club in Kirkland, Washington. To grasp a better understanding of the field we interviewed multiple professionals with experience working at prestige Athletic Clubs. Our group examined books and articles about the financing of fitness clubs to gain further information. Our final business plan was composed of the following sections: plan summary, industry section, company section, market section, marketing section, operations section, management and personnel section, financial projections sections, and capital needs section. The final project was developed into one 15-minute PowerPoint presentation; our group did a phenomenal job.

  • Select on the PPT logo to review our presentation

  • Review the timeline we developed for completing the project by selecting on our poster
  • Select on our logo to view the brochure we handed out to the class as supportive material

3. Hard Work, No Excuses: I have always been determined to achieve excellence in the classroom. After receiving a 92% on the Business Plan presentation the only assignment standing between myself and an A in Sport Budgeting and Finance was the Final Exam. The trick to this was that I needed a minimum of a 97% on a 28-question short answer exam to receive an A in the class. I was determined; I developed a study guide and used various methods for studying the material. I understood the material to a point where I could speak for an hour straight about all of the topics we have discussed throughout the 18 chapters in our textbook. The cherry on top was I received a 100% on the final exam and received an A in Sport Budget and Finance. Since I believed in myself and was determined to earn the A I put forth the hard work and time to understand the material and overall succeed with my mission to earn an A, very proud of myself.
