SPMT 406 - Sport Facility & Event Management

This course is designed to assist the sport management student in acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills needed to manage a sport facility and to plan a complete sporting event. This is a Theory and Technique Course



Coursework

1. Risk Analysis: A group of sport management students and I visited the Carnegie Melon University Recreation Center and conducted a risk analysis on the facility, we interviewed the Facility Director and developed a report and presentation on our identifications. Select on the picture of me to review our final report

 

2. 35th Annual Sport Management Banquet: As a class we worked as a group to plan, prepare, organize, and host the 35th Annual Sport Management Banquet. Andy Major the Director of Guest Services for the Buffalo Bills was our guest speaker and John Radke the Director of Operations for Major League Soccer (MLS) earned our Alumni Award. The event very successful and I am proud of my classmates for putting in so much hard work and time into this planning the event.



3. In-Class Speakers: Dr. Crow is great at providing a variety of learning opportunities in the classroom. Dr. Crow brought in guest speakers to our class on various occasions. Two of the guest speakers I have kept in close contact with and are alumni of Slippery Rock University.
